Unveil

So this year’s degree show is a little different to normal. Is it post-normal or the new normal, only time will tell. All the work that the students have produced has been made under coronavirus lockdown and demonstrates the resilience, flexibility and creativity of our students.

Maybe they are lucky that they are studying the media and under lockdown it has been the means by which we are communicating with the world outside our self-isolation, sharing what was previously secured by ticket prices, entrance fees and subscription payments, being entertained when the monotony of daily life in these unprecedented times gets us down and creating content to reach others trying to cope with this strange and sometimes scary limbo we find ourselves in.

While this year’s group is only small, with 6 students on the BA Applied Media, they represent a wide range of creative media practices; we have a computer games designer who completed his FdA at Penwith before joining us at Truro to complete his degree, a film-maker and a graphic designer from the HND Moving Image course, a writer and illustrator from the English Studies FdA at Truro, a podcaster who having completed his FdA in Sports Coaching and Therapy worked with Chaos Online radio in Truro and decided he wanted to change direction and develop media and audio skills on the BA and also a media make-up student who joined us to widen her media skills set and complete her degree in Cornwall.

We hope you enjoy looking at their work.

As we are not having a physical show, and cannot get the normal feedback, we would be grateful if you could leave any comments on the visitors comment page.
